This page states plainly what the lab is not, so that what it is can be trusted for what it actually offers.
Nothing here is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, even where a verse or a meditation speaks to grief, fear, or a hard decision. Where a reader's situation calls for real help — a doctor, a therapist, a counsellor, someone qualified and present — the lab is a companion beside that help, never a substitute for it.
The commentary here is our own reading of the song, written after the teachers named on the About page. It does not claim to be the last word on any verse — Sanskrit commentary has disagreed with itself for two thousand years, and this lab does not pretend to end that conversation.
Translations, word-meanings and the scanning of metre are offered as carefully as we know how, and are still the work of fallible hands. Where something here disagrees with an edition you trust, trust your own study and, where you can, the original.
The chat companion in the corner searches this lab's own text for what seems nearest to a question, entirely inside your browser. It is not a counsellor, not a substitute for a real conversation with someone who knows you, and not aware of anything beyond the verses and essays it draws from. Treat its replies the way you would treat this whole lab: as a door, not a destination.
A few links here lead offsite — to vedatom.com, or to a font provider. Once you leave, that other page's own terms and care apply, not this one's.
If a verse, a translation, or a citation looks mistaken, we would rather know than not. Write to connect@vedatom.com — correcting an error is a small thing beside the reason this lab exists at all.
