A verse from the epic counts four things worth keeping in the heart, and its entire mnemonic is that all four begin with the same syllable — hold these four, it says, and you are not born again. Read past the wordplay and the list is oddly practical: a book to study, a water to bathe in, a prayer to say at first light, and a person to think of. It is a whole life sketched in four words, and one of the four is the reason this site exists.
