The short version: this lab is a quiet room. We keep no accounts, run no trackers, show no ads, and send nothing about your reading anywhere. What the lab remembers, it remembers only inside your own browser.
To let you pick up where you left off, the lab stores a few small things in your browser's local storage: your place in a chapter, your reading streak and any beads of return, your progress on the path, the verses you choose to save with any personal notes, and — only if you turn it on — the private Garland of 108 ritual counted from them. This information lives only on your device. It is never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with anyone.
Because it is local, it is also private to that browser. Open the lab on another device and you begin fresh; clear your browser data and it is gone for good — there is no copy anywhere else.
To render its script and typography, the lab loads fonts from Google Fonts, and it may be hosted on a static content network. In the ordinary course of serving a web page, such providers can see the technical request itself — the kind of information (like an IP address) that any website receives simply by being visited. We neither collect nor combine this with anything else. If you would rather not load external fonts, a content blocker will not break the reading — the lab falls back to your system's own type.
The lab is made to be safe for children — there is nothing to sign up for, nothing to buy, and nothing collected about any reader, of any age. A parent or guardian can let a child read freely without leaving any personal trace behind.
To erase everything the lab has remembered, simply clear this site's data in your browser settings, or use your browser's private/incognito mode so that nothing is kept once the window is closed.
If the lab ever changes what it stores or how it is served, this page will be updated and its date changed. The spirit will not change: a quiet room, kept for the reader, that asks for nothing in return.
